One scarf, two scarf, red scarf, blue scarf

It seems an old hobby has reared it's head.  Not that it's a bad thing.  I have a closet full of yarn that begs to be used up.  But it's not all good either.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy knitting.  It's just that I bought more yarn!

It's all because 2 weekends ago I was out with my friends.  We went to "Second Saturday" in Georgetown.  That is an event where vendors set up their wares around the square.  Lots of good stuff!  We stumbled on a shop in the square that was selling scarves.  Hand made scarves.  They were beautiful  They were $40.

yikes

We looked closely at them.  I decided I could make them.  I found the yarn at Walmart for $4.67 in a variety of colors.  Even though I had already purchased 2 skeins elsewhere, I bought 4 more.

yikes

The skein includes instructions to knit the frilly scarf.  I attempted the shorter version.  It was supposed to measure 6" x 38" which I thought would be long enough for me.

I was wrong.

It was too short and too fat.  I took it apart and started to make the other version.

I liked this version much better.  4" x 62".  It's really a decorative scarf, not something to keep you warm.  We don't need too much of that kind of stuff for our winters.  This will be a nice accessory.

Of course, I will have 6 of them, at least.  At Walmart, I had to force myself to stop putting skeins of this yarn in my basket so there are a few more colors I do not currently have.  This may change on the next visit to the local Walmart.  Because I am the queen of great will power!

oy!

So much yarn! So little time!

(I know, I know!  I need to tuck those little tails in!  I'll get to them!  Don't judge!)

It's my turn at my collaborative blog-Focusing on Life!  Stop by and I'll tell you about another little obsession of mine!

What's your current obsession?

The scarves came out great - I've seen that yarn but haven't had the courage to try it...was it confusing to use?

These are gorgeous! Such rich and beautiful colors! I wish I could knit, but a wash rag is all that I can accomplish!
