I never took ballet. When I was little, I asked if I could take ballet. My mom had taken ballet when she was a child and didn't like it.
When my daughter was 5 she asked to take ballet.
I loved every minute of it.
When my daughter had a daughter of her own, she could hardly wait to enroll her in ballet class.
Riley now takes ballet and her mom (and I!) spend time at dance studios and recitals and performances.
But most important of all, Riley and her mom spend time dancing together.

It is so awesome that you chose to encourage your child's creativity. The shoes make a grand photo-story.
Oh the sweetness of this. The simplicity is charming. Thanks for sharing from your heart today. Happy TT my photo friend.
That is really so sweet. I love ballet. I get to enjoy it through my neices and sometimes envy having just boys. Really just so precious!
I completely relate to your post! My daughter started dancing when she was 8 and our second home was at her dance studio. She even considered a dance major in college but ultimately chose not to - but dancing is still her passion. Dance gave her so much confidence, and many beautiful memories - it's a wonderful thing, isn't it? I just had to click on your picture when I saw the ballet shoes...thanks for sharing! :)
Your story kind of tuggs at the heart...I wanted my daughter to take ballet or tap, but she chose gymnastics. She's grown now also with a son, but the memories of the times watching her recitals are the best!! Love the picture and texture.
