Eat your veg!

texture by Kim Klassen

Radishes have become a new, surprise favorite snack of mine.  I never particularly liked them before.

Last week, when I was doing Dr. Oz's 48-hour cleanse, radishes were on the list of snack veggies. Radishes, cucumbers and green beans were on the list. I could handle cucumbers and green beans but I thought radishes were going to be a problem.

The ones I used to get at the store were in a bag, already trimmed and washed. I think that was the problem. I started getting them in bunches. I had to do the trimming and washing but I found the taste to be better.

I ate all the radishes I got for the cleanse. I finished them off after the cleanse was over.

I bought another bunch this weekend for afternoon snacks.

My arm candy wants to grow a vegetable garden this year and I suggested that radishes would be something he could grow.

Who am I?  Who goes from radish snob to radish grower?

Have you surprised yourself with a new veggie love?

lovely photo, but I think I would have to pass on the cleansing...don't like cucumbers or radishes, green beans are good.
