Ketch-up

It's April what?

12th?

whoa!  How'd we get here?

The last thing I remember is trying to please, for the love of god, just get through January!

March was a tough month for me.  I was really not feeling the "watching what I ate" thing.  I was even bad about drinking water!  I was a real slacker in that department!  I was really motivated for about the first week of March because of a great loss in February.  I'm a once a month weigher.  Well, I do weigh more often than that but the one that counts is the one at the end of the month.

The end of February saw a 6 pound loss.  6!  Woo-hoo!  I was on fire!  I could surely do that again and get to my goal by Memorial Day!

Then the ho-hums settled in and I was less than cautious with eating the last 3 weeks of March and had a gain of a pound.

A Pound.  NBD but not the direction I need to go.  So I'm re-focusing, taking each day as it comes, watching food intake, making good choices.  yadayadayada...   The one thing I am good about is the daily exercise.  It's the 4 at 5 everyday.  4 miles at 5 am.  Sometimes 7 or 8 am on the weekends but still 4 miles.

We've been busy working on our backyard now that spring has sprung around here.  Our backyard is very shady.  We had 21 trees back there.  We don't live on acreage, just a slightly larger than standard neighborhood lot and 21 oak, elm and Texas ash trees that were very happy and had gotten very large.  The canopy had grown together and was so thick that it was like walking into a room whenever you went outside.  So most of the grass had died.  Big, shade trees are so nice when summer comes but trees that are so big nothing will grow under them and their branches are rubbing on roofs (ours and neighbors) are not so nice.  We had 5 trees cut down and 7 pallets of new grass put down.  It's still shady back there and eventually we will have to cut more trees down but for now it's perfect.

With all the landscaping fun I have not been very good with the participation in the online photography classes I'm part of.  That and Picture Inspiration really makes you think about the prompt.  I've thought about them all.  I haven't posted any pictures yet but I have taken a few.  And the ones I have thought about require me to take a trip into the big city.  I've got my eye on a really tall condo building in downtown Austin.  Hopefully I can get there this week.  My daily charges will be visiting their other grandparents in Ohio for a few days so might give me some free time.

Mastering Manual Mode ended and this is what I submitted for the final critique

2 little pieces of my heart!  The cuteness factor is over the moon in my mind!

And speaking of the moon

did you see the super moon in March?

I plan to take pics of the girls in the bluebonnets tomorrow before they fly away.  The bluebonnets this year are really sparse.  I checked out the field I used last year for this pic

The cute tot will be there again but most of the bluebonnets have decided not to join us this year.
I only hope the few that returned this year will survive the night so I can get some shots of the tots tomorrow!
