CWF-Chocolate Tiramisu

I can't believe it's already time for another outing with Francois!

Sandy of Seattle Pastry Girl chose this month's adventure.

Great choice, Sandy!  We loved this!

Not so pretty but oh so delicious!

Sometimes Francois' recipes can be a pain in the arse a tad difficult for me.   This one was not too bad!  With the exception of all the folding of the various ingredients into the meringue and the preparation of the ganache.  I'm getting better at folding.  I'm always afraid of deflating the meringue!  And you'd think I'd be able to successfully make ganache!  What's so hard?  I dunno!  But I had to make this one twice and it still wasn't as good as it should have been!  Taste wise it was good, looks wise-not so much.

anyway...

As the tiramisu is assembled you are to pour strong coffee over the cake that will be absorbed into the cake and add flavor.  Well, I was just a smidge short of the required amount of coffee so I added some Tia Marie to get it where it needed to be.  Just a smidge.  or two.  or.....

I let it sit, covered, in the frig for a day.  Then we had some with our dinner ala French Fridays.  It was the perfect way to complete that delicious meal!

Back in the fridge the tiramisu went for another day.

Day 2 it was even better!

Make this!  You won't be disappointed!

And be sure to visit the other intrepid bakers at Chocolate with Francois

Till next month!

Looks wonderful! You are most right about some of Francois's recipes being a tad difficult. This one was well worth the effort though. :)
